Hospital Inmate Security Officer
Position Overview
The Hospital Inmate Security Officer is responsible for providing stationary security coverage for inmates receiving medical care in a hospital setting. This role requires a high level of alertness, professionalism, and sound judgment to ensure the safety of hospital staff, patients, visitors, and the public while maintaining secure supervision of the inmate in accordance with established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain constant visual observation of the inmate at all times
Ensure the inmate remains properly secured in accordance with policy
Control and monitor access to the inmate’s hospital room
Maintain a professional, calm, and authoritative presence
Respond appropriately to medical emergencies, behavioral issues, or security concerns
Communicate effectively with hospital staff, supervisors, and dispatch
Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports
Follow all hospital, company, and correctional facility policies and procedures
Remain attentive and alert during extended stationary assignments
Qualifications
Prior security, law enforcement, military, or correctional experience preferred
Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while maintaining alertness
Strong observation, communication, and decision-making skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure environments
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Must meet all state and company certification requirements
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Physical & Mental Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
