About the Position

We are seeking a reliable, professional Elementary School Safety Officer to provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment for students and staff. This officer will serve as a visible presence on campus, support school procedures, and respond appropriately to incidents using established safety protocols.

This role is ideal for individuals who have a strong commitment to youth safety, consistent attendance, and the ability to remain calm, observant, and approachable.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence on school grounds to promote safety and security.
• Monitor hallways, common areas, playgrounds, and visitor access points.
• Support arrival and dismissal processes and assist with student transitions.
• Observe activity throughout the day and report concerns to school leadership.
• Follow all school safety policies, emergency procedures, and communication protocols.
• Respond to incidents with professionalism and clarity.
• Build positive rapport with students, staff, and school administrators.
• Complete required school safety training and campus-specific onboarding.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Valid Security Officer certification from the State of Georgia
• Prior experience in security, public safety, school safety, military, or related fields preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain alert, attentive, and stationed for the duration of the shift.
• Must pass all required safety training for the assigned school.
• Must provide a recent background check from your local police department

• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance—this role is essential to daily school operations.

• Professional conduct, punctuality, and sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with youth
• Conflict de-escalation or customer service experience
• CPR/First Aid certification
